Tim Higgins
Senior Pastor

The son of a football coach, Tim Higgins lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Michigan, South Carolina, and Florida before moving to the Chicago area in 2013.

Tim grew up in a Christian home and was baptized while in high school. He graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in History in 2006. While at Florida, Tim was a walk-on member of the football team before earning a scholarship for the 2006 season. Immediately after graduating from Florida, Tim enrolled in graduate school at The Citadel, where he played his final year of football eligibility for his father while earning an M.A. in Teaching. After completing his Master’s degree in 2008, Tim moved back to Gainesville, Florida, where he taught history and coached football at F.W. Buchholz High School for five years.

In 2013, Tim responded to a call to pastoral ministry by enrolling at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. After graduating with his M.Div. in 2016, he joined the staff at North Sub, first as Associate Pastor (2016-2019) and then as Senior Pastor (2019-present). Tim has written for The Gospel Coalition and Rooted.

Tim and his wife Sarah were married in 2009 and now reside in Northbrook with their two young sons. They have been partners in ministry throughout their marriage. In Florida, Sarah served as Youth Director at Creekside Community Church while Tim was a deacon and worship leader there. Now, Sarah is the North Shore Area Director for Young Life, a parachurch student ministry organization. They enjoy watching college football, grilling, and riding bikes in the neighborhood.
