Melanie Rose
Grounds Deacon
Melanie grew up in Los Angeles, CA, where she was raised in a secular Jewish home. Her parents divorced when she was 12. Starting in high school, God kept putting Christians in Melanie’s path who would try to tell her about Jesus. She vehemently resisted because “Jewish people do not believe in Jesus.” She moved to the Chicago area in 1985. But in 1990, when her 13-year marriage came to an unwanted end, she finally surrendered to God and gave her life to Yeshua (Jesus). Rather than return to L.A., she remained in Illinois. Melanie’s sister, brother and his family, and cousins still live in L.A.
In 1993, the Lord opened up an opportunity for her to work for Jews for Jesus. She’s been working for them ever since using her God-given administrative skills to help bring the gospel to her Jewish people worldwide.
Melanie has been attending North Sub since 2007. She loves volunteering at church, listening to audio books, growing orchids, and being in Life Group and the CraftWorks group.
Her favorite Bible verses:
Jeremiah 29:11 – “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
The Aaronic Benediction, Numbers 6:24–26 – “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”
